Earlier this month, Attorney General Bondi gave Mayor Wu and other so-called “sanctuary” leaders a clear warning: stop protecting illegal aliens or face the consequences. Bondi didn’t mince words. She made it clear that sanctuary policies are dangerous. They let criminal aliens hide in plain sight. They stop federal agents from doing their job. And worst of all, they put Americans at risk.
Mayor Wu’s response? Defiance. She stood at a podium with a smug attitude and claimed that Boston is “the safest city in the country” because of its sanctuary policies. That’s not just wrong — it’s reckless. Sanctuary policies don’t make cities safer. They make it easier for criminals to avoid deportation and commit more crimes.
Thankfully, there are still patriots in our government who are willing to take action. Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons announced on Wednesday that his agency is going to “flood the zone” in Boston. That means more ICE agents, more arrests, and more criminals taken off the streets. Lyons isn’t backing down, and neither is President Trump.
Lyons pointed to a recent operation called “Patriot March,” where ICE agents arrested over 1,000 illegal aliens. Many of them had criminal records. Now, ICE is turning its full attention to Boston. Why? Because Mayor Wu refuses to cooperate with ICE. Her city releases dangerous criminals back into the streets instead of handing them over to federal agents. That’s not leadership — that’s betrayal.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t about immigration. This is about law and order. This is about keeping families safe. When a person commits a crime in this country — especially a violent crime — and they’re here illegally, they should be deported. Period. But sanctuary cities like Boston tie the hands of law enforcement. They pass laws like the Trust Act, which forbids local police from working with ICE. That means violent criminals get a free pass.
Even worse, brave men and women in the Boston Police Department are being forced to help ICE in secret. That’s right — some officers are working with federal agents behind the scenes because they’re afraid they’ll get fired for doing the right thing. But now, with President Trump back in the White House and Pam Bondi at the Justice Department, the tide is turning. Sanctuary cities are on notice. This is a fight for America’s future. Do we want open borders and criminal-friendly cities, or do we want to defend our sovereignty and protect our neighborhoods? The American people have already answered that question. They elected Donald J. Trump to restore order and put America first.
