Trump Comforts Families, Slams Biden’s Afghan Program

President Donald Trump is once again showing what real leadership looks like. On Sunday, he spoke directly with the grieving families of two National Guard heroes who were shot in Washington, D.C. One of them, 20-year-old Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, died from her wounds. The other, Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe, is still fighting for his life. These aren’t just names. These are brave Americans who stepped up to serve their country and were attacked while protecting our nation’s capital.

President Trump, speaking aboard Air Force One, said these families are heartbroken. And who could blame them? Their children didn’t die overseas in combat. They were attacked on our own streets, just blocks from the White House, by a foreign national who never should have been here in the first place.

The man accused of this evil act is Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national. He came to America under Joe Biden’s disastrous Afghan resettlement program, Operation Allies Welcome. That program was supposed to help our allies. Instead, thanks to Biden’s reckless policies, it brought danger straight to our doorstep. And now, a young woman is dead and a young man might not survive.

Let’s be clear: this is not just a tragic story. This is what happens when politicians put globalist priorities ahead of American lives. Lakanwal entered this country legally, under a program the Biden administration rushed through without proper vetting. They promised it would be done “safely and swiftly.” They failed. And now, innocent Americans are paying the price.

But while Biden’s mess continues to cost lives, President Trump is stepping up. He has invited the families of both soldiers to the White House. He told them, “When you’re ready… we’re going to honor Sarah.” That’s leadership. That’s compassion. And that’s exactly what this country needs.

Andrew Wolfe’s parents are praying for a miracle. President Trump asked all Americans to join them in prayer. He described them as strong, religious people who are holding on to hope. And we should all stand with them. Not just in prayer, but in demanding justice and accountability.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced that the Department of Justice will seek the death penalty for Lakanwal. That’s the right call. If we won’t protect our own soldiers on our own soil, what are we even doing as a country?

The people of West Virginia are grieving. At a vigil held Saturday night at Webster County High School, where Sarah Beckstrom once walked the halls, friends and neighbors gathered to remember her. She was described as kind, courageous, and someone who loved to serve others. Her governor called her a “favorite daughter” and said she left a mark that will last forever. She deserved a long life, not a violent end at the hands of someone who never should have set foot in our country.

This tragedy should shake every American to their core. Our troops are supposed to be protected at home. But thanks to open-border globalists and weak immigration policies, they’re not even safe in Washington, D.C.

President Trump signed an executive order earlier this year to crack down on the rising crime in our capital. That’s why the National Guard was even deployed there. He knew something had to be done. But the swamp and the media fought him every step of the way. Now we see the cost of ignoring his warnings.

We must never forget the name Sarah Beckstrom. We must keep praying for Andrew Wolfe. And we must demand that our leaders put America First — not Afghan resettlement, not political correctness, and not globalist agendas.

President Trump is doing what a commander-in-chief should do: standing with our troops, comforting their families, and calling for justice. It’s time the rest of Washington followed his lead. No more excuses. No more open borders. America comes first. Period.
