The president is reportedly planning to make things official “next week” (which, as of this writing, is this week). The claim was first published in The Washington Post. In a move that is true to his style, Biden will make the announcement in a video rather than speaking in front of his supporters. Maybe that uninspired choice contributed to the media hysteria on Sunday morning.
The typically Biden-friendly shows on different left-wing channels broke glass and pushed the red button in a genuine panic after the revelation of his upcoming 2024 bid. CNN took the lead, praising statistics that revealed a significant gap between the public’s assessment of the president and his job performance. The same song and dance was performed by NBC News, who promoted their own polling data indicating that the majority of Democrats oppose his candidacy.
Then came ABC News, which didn’t pull any punches and attacked Biden’s greatest flaw head-on: His advanced age and senility.
These media outlets have been fired up since learning that Biden will indeed run for office once more. For years, they’ve worked tirelessly to keep the president safe, but right now, they’re making a full-court effort to talk him out of running for re-election. Can you really blame them for trying? Look at the challenges they encounter.
Biden’s age alone would be a PR issue, but he also has other issues. In addition to his senior age, he is also undergoing a very apparent mental and physical decline. These days, it’s simply difficult to see the president walk because of his stumbling feet and obvious perplexity. I’ve lost count of how many times he’s wandered off stage, asked where to stand, or needed directions. The biggest red flag is his inability to talk logically, though. Biden’s public appearances frequently turn into senile outbursts. A quick online search would turn up enough instances to keep anyone occupied for the entire day.
