Democrats Invent A New Way To End Gun Rights

Democrats Invent A New Way To End Gun Rights

Democratic legislatures from Oregon are proposing a fresh set of gun control regulations, one of which allows counties and cities to have the authority to restrict concealed carry.

According to reports from Oregon Public Radio, “lawmakers are also thinking about legislation that would let counties and cities ban firearms inside government buildings and raise the legal age of gun ownership to 21.” The only exception would be for 18 to 20-year-olds purchasing hunting-specific firearms.

House Bill 2005 has a third restriction that’s being sought; it would ban 3-D printed firearms as well as firearms that can be put together using a kit. Both of these kinds of weapons are referred to by Dems. as “ghost guns.”

According to KATU, Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum, who suggested that President Joe Biden’s executive action on “ghost weapons” fell short, is supporting Democratic lawmakers’ efforts.

“It doesn’t really go far enough, so that’s why Oregon needs this bill,” according to Rosenblum. “For instance, nothing in the new federal law prevents 3-D printed guns.”

Vikki Breeze-Iverson, the Oregon House GOP minority leader, commented about the Democrats’ latest effort at gun restriction.

Part of the statement read:

“We have real reservations about House Bill 2006’s constitutionality since it effectively forbids 18-year-old individuals from engaging in activities to which they are entitled by law. In Oregon, citizens can register to vote and enlist in the military at the age of 18. According to the House Bill 2006, the 18-year-olds in Oregon are not mature enough to make decisions on their own.”

In addition, Breeze-Iverson voiced alarm over the Democrats’ decision to put all gun control regulations into one bill, saying it was “another instance of the majority trying to steamroll their radical agenda in the 2023 Legislative Session.”
