Democrats Just Made Illegal Immigration Much More Dangerous

On the grounds of John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport, Eric Adams (D), the New York City Mayor has begun keeping hundreds of recently arrived border crossers as well as illegal immigrants in a warehouse. Republicans in Congress are now criticizing him for endangering national security.

A total of over 74,000 border crossers as well as illegal aliens have entered New York municipal since the spring of this past year, leaving municipal officials unsure of how and where to shelter the new arrivals.

At the end of last week, Adams offered a warehouse at JFK Airport to roughly 200 border crossers and unlawful immigrants with permission from the Port Authority in addition to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

At some point, Adams hopes to shelter up to 1,000 illegal immigrants and border crossers inside the warehouse. Anyone staying in the warehouse is free to depart whenever they like.

Representatives responded by requesting in a letter to the FAA officials that they retract their authorization of the migrant housing at JFK Airport.

“The recently made choice by the FAA as well as the Port Authority of New York along with New Jersey to accommodate illegal immigrants at JFK Airport presents both a risk to national security at one of America’s most significant transportation centers and demonstrates the palpable failure caused by the Biden Administration’s catastrophic border policies,” said D’Esposito to the New York Post.

This week, the congressman also posted on Instagram, claiming that he tried to pay a visit to the JFK Airport migrant refuge but was turned away.

The most recent action taken by Adams to locate shelter for the incoming arrivals involves moving border crossers and illegal immigrants into a warehouse on the property of JFK Airport. The majority of the tens of thousands of people using the city’s shelter system are staying in expensive hotels for free, which is extremely expensive for native New Yorkers.

Adams has indicated that city services like free toddler care, elderly food programs, and public library hours would have to be reduced in order to pay for the migrant motels.

In all, New Yorkers spend $256 each day, on average, for giving each migrant family a complimentary hotel room. This is far more than the $136 to $188 the city spends each year to house homeless New Yorkers.
