DeSantis Finally Answers His Most-Avoided Question (It’s About Donald Trump)

DeSantis Finally Answers His Most-Avoided Question (It’s About Donald Trump)

In the event that he loses the 2024 Republican primary, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) indicated he will back former President Trump or any other contender.

When questioned if he would back Trump, DeSantis responded, “I’m going to back the party’s nominee.”

“At the end of the day, you undergo these processes, voters render a decision, and you have to live with it,” DeSantis continued.

Trump is the undisputed front-runner six months out from the first Republican primary fight.

A Harvard poll conducted in June showed that Trump had a 67 to 33 percent lead over DeSantis, a little drop for DeSantis from the Harvard survey that was conducted in May prior to the Florida governor joining the race. In a number of states, which include but are not limited to the states of SC, NH, WI, NY, and IA, Trump leads DeSantis by double digits.

Additionally, DeSantis rejected the notion of a Trump-DeSantis ticket, expressing to the podcast that he is “not a No. 2 guy.” DeSantis asserted that he would like to continue serving as governor of Florida since the vice presidency “does not really have any sort of authority.”

DeSantis also put an end to rumors regarding his prospective running partner.

In response to a question about his potential number two, DeSantis remarked, “It’s a little bit premature to be discussing that at this stage. We need to start by winning the early primaries, for which I am running.”

President Biden and Donald Trump were both targeted by DeSantis, who claimed that suburban women “disapprove of Biden” while “they also, regrettably, disapprove tremendously of Donald Trump.”

“Ron DeSantis is not anybody’s guy,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung told NBC News in response to DeSantis’ statement. “He is not ‘the man.’ He is only a guy. Since his numbers are as little as he is, Ron is just standing there, glum and depressed.”
