Elon Musk Slams Globalist Control Over Online Discussions

Elon Musk Slams Globalist Control Over Online Discussions

Elon Musk has called upcoming hate speech rules in one EU nation a “massive attack on freedom of expression.”

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, called the forthcoming hate speech regulations in Ireland a “massive attack on freedom of expression.”

The proposed legislation would give Irish authorities the authority to legally punish persons for a wide range of “hate” offenses, including having possession of material that may “incite” hatred in other people if distributed.

Additionally, if a court determines it is reasonable to do so, the legislation under consideration states that the justice system may simply assume that an individual in possession of such “hate” material plans on distributing it. This raises concerns that the Irish government is attempting to introduce “thought crimes” with this proposal.

Despite these criticisms, which were voiced during a parliamentary debate this week, Ireland’s progressive administration has kept on pushing the bill through, and it is now just a few more steps away from being the law in the country.

However, amid online worries regarding the proposed Irish legislation, Twitter CEO Elon Musk has waded into the debate, calling the proposed Irish law an attack upon free of expression.

“This is a massive assault on free speech,” Musk commented on Saturday.

Musk’s criticism is expected to reverberate throughout the Irish political scene since most of the island’s elite appear to have a strong antipathy for the South-African born entrepreneur.

Even the nation’s president, Michael D. Higgins, has criticised Musk in the past, calling his acquisition of Twitter last year a “form of dictatorship.”

While Ireland’s politicians may dislike Musk, his views are likely to carry some weight in the country due to the country’s massive reliance on U.S. multinationals in the tech and pharmaceutical industries.

Musk’s Twitter even holds its European base in the Irish city of Dublin, with Ireland’s regulatory organizations having major authority over the social media giant’s actions within the EU.
