Even Fetterman Gets It — A Democrat Senator Just Accused His Own Party of Rooting for Iran and Honestly He’s Not Wrong

You know your party has gone completely off the rails when John Fetterman — the guy who showed up to the United States Senate in a hoodie and gym shorts, the guy who had a stroke on the campaign trail and still won because Pennsylvania apparently thought that was fine — is the one making the most sense on foreign policy. Senator Fetterman just accused Democrats and the media of effectively cheering Iran’s seizure of the Strait of Hormuz. And he’s right.

Let that marinate for a second. The most rational voice in the Democratic Party on national security is a man who looks like he should be bouncing at a dive bar in Braddock. Meanwhile, the “serious” Democrats — the ones with their fancy degrees and their think tank connections — are out here running interference for a terrorist regime. The timeline is absolutely unhinged.

Here’s what’s happening. Iran seized control of the Strait of Hormuz — one of the most strategically critical waterways on planet Earth. About 20% of the world’s oil passes through that chokepoint. This isn’t some abstract geopolitical chess move. This is a hostile regime putting its boot on the throat of global energy markets. This affects gas prices. This affects heating bills. This affects everything that moves on a truck, which is everything.

And the response from Democrats and their media allies? According to Fetterman — a Democrat himself, mind you — they’re cheering it on. They’re so consumed by their hatred of Trump, so desperate for any outcome that makes the current administration look bad, that they’re willing to side with Iran. Iran. The country that hangs gay people from cranes. The country that forces women into head coverings under threat of imprisonment. The country that funds Hamas and Hezbollah. That’s who Democrats are rooting for because the alternative is admitting Trump’s foreign policy might actually work.

Fetterman didn’t mince words about it either. He called out his own party directly. He called out the media directly. This isn’t some anonymous source whispering to a reporter. This is a sitting Democratic senator going on the record and saying: my team is rooting for the bad guys.

Now, we should be clear — Fetterman isn’t suddenly a conservative. He’s not switching parties. He still holds plenty of positions that would make your blood pressure spike. But on this? On the basic question of whether America should side with America or side with Iran? He’s got more common sense than the entire Democratic leadership combined.

And that’s the real story here. It’s not that Fetterman is some brave maverick. It’s that the bar for sanity in the Democratic Party is now so catastrophically low that simply saying “maybe we shouldn’t cheer for Iran” qualifies as a bold, controversial stance. That’s where they are. That’s what the party of JFK has become — a party where supporting American interests over Iranian interests makes you a pariah.

The media’s role in this is equally disgusting. These are the same outlets that spent four years telling us Trump was going to start World War III. Remember that? Every missile strike, every tough statement, every sanction — they told us we were on the brink of nuclear war. Now Iran has actually seized a critical waterway, actually escalated in a way that threatens global stability, and these same journalists are… finding ways to blame America. Finding ways to frame Iran as the victim. Finding ways to make this about Trump rather than about a theocratic regime committing an act of aggression.

Fetterman sees through it. And if Fetterman can see through it — a man who, God bless him, is still recovering from a serious medical event and admittedly struggled in his early Senate days — then every single Democrat with a functioning brain stem should be able to see through it too. The fact that they can’t, or won’t, tells you everything about where that party’s priorities actually lie.

They don’t care about energy security. They don’t care about American strength abroad. They don’t care about the sailors and service members who might have to put their lives on the line because Iran felt emboldened. They care about one thing: opposing Trump. That’s it. That’s the entire platform. If Trump said the sky was blue, half the Democratic caucus would release a statement calling it “a contested atmospheric interpretation that requires further study.”

So here we are. John Fetterman — hoodie-wearing, tattoo-covered John Fetterman — is the adult in the room for the Democratic Party. He’s the one saying what millions of Americans are thinking: why is my party siding with Iran?

We don’t have a good answer for you, Senator. But we appreciate you asking the question out loud. Somebody over there had to.
