Exec. Privilege! Biden Desperate To Hide Recording

Exec. Privilege! Biden Desperate To Hide Recording

In order to keep Congress from getting his audio recordings from his interview with special counsel Robert Hur, President Joe Biden claimed presidential privilege this week.

To start the process of finding AG Garland in contempt of Congress for his failure to turn up the video, the House Oversight Committee set up a markup for this Thursday.

In April, Garland disregarded a last warning in order to abide by a subpoena for the audio recording of Biden’s meeting with the special counsel.

According to a transcript that Breitbart News was able to get, Biden, 81, had at least seven instances of mental errors and “bad recollection” during the president’s interview with Hur.

In a letter to Oversight Committee chairmen Jim Jordan (R-OH) and James Comer (R-KY), Associate Attorney General Carlos Uriarte stated:

“Administrations of both parties have long maintained that an official who upholds the President’s assertion of executive privilege is immune from prosecution for criminal contempt of Congress,” the statement said.

When reporters questioned Garland about Biden’s unilateral move on Thursday, Garland declined to comment.

White House lawyer Ed Siskel told House GOP, “The absence of a genuine necessity for the audio recordings makes apparent your anticipated intent — to slice them up, distort them, and utilize them for partisan political reasons.” “It is wrong to demand such sensitive, constitutionally protected law enforcement information from the Executive Branch in order to use it for possible political benefit.”

CNN and conservative think groups have submitted FOIA requests to access the audio recordings.
