Republicans have been the target of media liberals for decades and it wasn’t until Donald Trump that something was finally done about it.
Unlike any President before him, Donald Trump stood up to the media bullies, many of whom receive nothing but undue praise and adulation, as they published vicious attacks based on defamatory lies told by “anonymous sources.”
While these outlets were attacking Trump at every angle they were also raking in major profits. Trump’s popularity nationwide helped corporate media outlets sell billions upon billions of dollars in advertising. Executives were making record profits from a U.S. President they claimed was an existential threat.
Media outlets ramped up the defamatory rhetoric against Donald Trump after the 2020 presidential election, and especially after the Jan. 6 protest, which was proven to be a Deep State coup.
But now Donald Trump is getting his revenge and is vowing to sue CNN for its defamatory “Big Lie” propaganda.
Trump’s legal team penned a letter to CNN CEO Chris Licht and CNN Executive Vice President and General Counsel David Vigilante demanding they publish a correction, apology, or retraction for their defamatory statements regarding Trump’s 2020 election claims, or else be faced with a major lawsuit.
“Accordingly, I hereby demand on behalf of President Donald Trump that CNN (1) immediately take down the false and defamatory publications, (2) immediately issue a full and fair retraction of the statements identified herein in as conspicuous a manner as they were originally published, and (3) immediately cease and desist from its continued use of ‘Big Lie’ and ‘lying’ when describing President Trump’s subjective belief regarding the integrity of the 2020 election,” said the letter from Trump’s lawyers.
Trump’s legal team is the best cited Webster’s Dictionary definition of a “lie,” which is defined as “an assertion of something known or believed by the speaker to be untrue with intent to deceive.” The letter claimed the definition requires the speaker to know he is speaking falsely and argues that in Trump’s case, he subjectively believes the 2020 election results “turned on fraudulent voting activity in several key states.”
Trump’s lawyers also claimed CNN gave “unique treatment” to the former president, characterizing him as a liar, when other public figures, some of whom have been proven to be telling lies, were not referred to as liars by CNN, such as actor Jussie Smollett, former FBI official Andrew McCabe, and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.
The Former President unveiled his intentions to sue CNN in a statement released to his Truth Social account. In the statement, Trump vows to go after other media outlets as well, saying, “I will never stop fighting for the truth and for the future of our Country!”
