New House Speaker Poll Shows Americans Have Had Enough

A recent study found that 67% of voters want Republicans to come together behind a candidate so the House can quickly choose a Speaker. Another 25% of voters said it didn’t matter to them whether a Speaker was chosen or not.

There hasn’t been a speaker for nearly two weeks, but 57% of the Republicans want one chosen as quickly as possible, while 34% of Republicans don’t care either way. Democratic voters are split 86% to 10%, while independent voters are split 59% to 32%.

American home warranty manager Dustin Gibbons, 34, stated to USA Today, “It is not like they’re doing anything anyway. I don’t believe the speaker of the House will do anything but keep kicking that ball around.”

The Republicans will get together this week for a debate with candidates. Several news sources say that the conference will choose a name this week before the official election of a speaker on the House floor.

Everyone who votes in the House seems to want a deal on federal spending before November 17, when the government runs out of taxpayer funds. 61% of people want lawmakers to make a deal. 31% of people want to cut back on government spending, and 55% of those people are Republicans. Only 37% of Republicans who answered want a deal.

“After all, are we not living in a bipartisan world?” Desiree Whitney, 64, from Boerne, Texas, informed USA Today how she felt. “What’s the point of stopping it at our government? Does it start there? It’s all about making deals, you know.”

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) informed Breitbart News that the Appropriations Committee can keep writing bills until the House is back in order, which is what many other members also think.

“I believe it’s crucial for people to understand that committees can and should continue to carry out their duties, despite the current dispute over speakers,” the speaker stated.

With a 3.1-point margin of error, the study looked at 1,000 people between October 17th and 20th.
