Following claims that Fox News fired Carlson as a part of the network’s settling with Dominion, Oklahoma lawmakers presented a resolution to “reject the most recent alleged attempts from Dominion Voting Machines to suppress Tucker Carlson”.
Six days after Fox News and Dominion agreed to a $787.5 million settlement, Carlson was let go by the cable news network.
According to reports, Carlson’s legal team allegedly presented a letter addressed to Fox News last week charging them of committing contract violations as well as fraud. Also, according to the letter, he was fired as a part of the conservative television news channel’s $787.5 million agreement with Dominion.
According to reports, the letter claims that Fox News deliberately violated pledges to Carlson, which represented fraud, and that the network also disregarded a contract not to reveal his private correspondence to the media.
“The letter also reportedly claimed that the network breached pledges to not come to a settlement with Dominion ‘in a fashion that would indicate misconduct’ at the hands of Carlson and also not to engage in any action that might result in a settlement that was likely to damage his reputation.”
“Two people told Axios of the fact that Carlson had been told by a board member of Fox News that his termination had been a result of the Dominion settlement.”
Rep. Justin Humphrey (R) and Senator Rob Standridge (R) of Oklahoma, alongside other state lawmakers, are now spearheading the opposition against Dominion and supporting Carlson.
If the allegations concerning Dominion’s involvement in Carlson’s dismissal are true, Standridge said, it would “only add additional reasons for preventing them from ever operating within our state.”
“These leftist efforts to suppress one of today’s greatest voices for truthfulness shouldn’t be tolerated in the country,” added Standridge. “If the current rumors about Dominion requesting for Tucker Carlson to be dismissed as a part of a settlement are accurate, that will only serve to strengthen the case against preventing them from doing business in our state.”
