It’s refreshing when the Washington D.C. elite admit what’s really going on.
Amongst all the lies and obfuscations, sometimes a Democrat lawmaker will slip and accidentally let the American people know how they truly feel about national tragedies that affect every aspect of their lives.
We witnessed this phenomenon most recently during the China Virus pandemic when multiple Democrat leaders were seen breaking their own lockdown measures while forcing average citizens into their homes, unable to earn a living.
Between Gov. Gavin Newsom’s big-wig dinner at a Michelin star restaurant and Nancy Pelosi’s hair salon habit, America’s leading liberals showed their constituents just how highly they regard the common struggles of everyday citizens.
As a result of all the liberal hypocrisy, many conservatives have rebranded the Democrat Party, calling it the ‘Let Them Eat Cake’ party in reference to Marie Antoinnette.
Now, another prominent Democrat lawmaker is having her own “Let Them Eat Cake” moment when she claimed gas prices “didn’t matter” because she is fortunate enough to drive an electric vehicle.
On Tuesday, Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan discussed rising gas prices during a Senate Finance Committee hearing. She inspired immense anger and backlash from the average American citizen when she claimed it “doesn’t matter” how high gas prices become if everyone switches over to an electric vehicle.
Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) says she drove her electric vehicle past every gas station and it didn't matter to her how high the price was.

Stabenow added she is “looking forward to the opportunity for us to move to vehicles that aren’t going to be dependent on the whims of the oil companies and the international markets” and stressed the role that supply chain problems have had in hampering EV production and driving up costs.
The Democrat Senator’s tremendous remarks come after gas prices hit a record high, averaging at $4.91 per gallon, according to AAA. That’s a 61-cent spike from just the week prior and a $1.8 increase from this time last year.
Automobile industry experts admit that electric vehicles could save the consumer money over a lengthy period of time, but the upfront costs associated with purchasing an EV prevent average Americans from pulling the trigger. Stabenow’s remarks serve as a direct reminder that our “elected” officials are in fact so far removed from the plight of normal citizens.
According to Kelley Blue Book, the average cost of an electric vehicle is $56,437 — roughly $10,000 more than the industry average. In Sen. Stabenow’s state of Michigan, the median household income is $59,234 — the cost of one electric vehicle.
Rightfully, Stabenow’s comments sparked immense backlash online, with many pointing out how out of touch the Democrat Party has become.

Meanwhile, the price per gallon is poised to remain at current levels. The Biden administration has essentially washed its hands of the issue and continues to cut America’s supply, forcing consumers to be reliant upon the good graces of foreign adversaries.
