Top Republican Blasts Biden Over COVID Relief Fund Fraud

When the COVID panic hit, state governments began to shut down our economy. Millions of people were put out of work over fear and hysteria. The only solution, it seemed to our bloated government, was to shell out as much cash as they could print. The government launched numerous relief programs to provide money to businesses, so they wouldn’t fold and cash to people supposedly out of work.

Big surprise, much of that money was stolen.

Billions of the multi-trillion relief funds disappeared through fraud. Criminals used online tactics to bilk the government out of the money, money meant for struggling businesses. And, although this news has been floating around for a while, Biden has refused to do anything about it. Now, a top Republican is blasting Joe—demanding answers.

Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee, accused Democrats and the Biden administration of attempting to cover up massive pandemic relief fraud…

“Faced with billions of dollars lost to unchecked unemployment fraud involving organized cybercrime and international crime rings, Democrats have ignored repeated calls for congressional oversight hearings,” he added.

Stimulus funding was needed in the early days of the pandemic when the economy shut down, but the continuation of most relief programs into late 2021 led to increased fraudulent activity, Brady argued. [Source: Just the News]

Brady is accusing Biden and the Democrats of turning a blind eye to massive fraud. An estimated $80 billion in tax dollars was reportedly stolen by fraudsters taking advantage of COVID relief programs. What makes the matter worse is that Biden continued these programs well into 2021, when they were largely unneeded. Democrats continued to shell out money they didn’t have, even though there were already reports that people were stealing it.

The Republican claimed the massive government spending over the last two years (which exceeded $850 billion) “stunted our economic growth and worsened the labor shortage.” He’s not wrong. Biden accelerated government spending during his first year, blaming COVID. Instead of getting Americans back to work, he paid them to stay home. All the new money flooding the country led to runaway inflation.

And the fact that so much of this money was cheated out of the government isn’t a surprise. On top of that, Brady continues this added insult to injury, as many of the crooks committed identity theft to further bilk the government.

As of now, Biden refuses to look into the matter. Some reports indicate the cash left the country entirely, reaching the hands of criminals overseas. That should warrant an investigation, right? But Biden and the Democrats seemingly do nothing.

It will take Republicans stepping up and doing the job old Joe refuses to do, as usual.
