President Donald Trump is anticipated to lose his firearms license as a result of his last-week conviction for falsifying corporate documents.
A New York City Police Department official informed CNN that they were about to revoke the Republican presidential candidate’s firearms permit.
Following his felony indictment, the NYPD suspended Trump’s New York concealed carry license on April 1, 2023. Only the day before, two of the three weapons he was authorized to carry had been given to the NYPD. The official stated that Trump lawfully moved his third firearm to Florida.
It is illegal for a convicted felon to possess a firearm, and if Trump refuses to turn the weapon in, he faces a lengthy jail sentence.
Numerous reports state that the NYPD’s Legal Bureau is wrapping up its investigation to determine whether or not to cancel Trump’s license, and that it most likely will. In order to contest the revocation, Trump may request a hearing.
Trump has held a concealed carry license in New York for more than ten years, but his records are not available to the public because he requested to maintain his anonymity when submitting his application.
When contacted for comment, the Trump campaign chose to focus its ire on Biden, not the NYPD or the license to carry, stating, “Biden’s cronies in the Democrat Party are panicked and have chosen to continue to abuse our once great justice system to pursue their No. 1 political opponent and interfere in the coming election.”
Biden has continued to keep himself apart from all Trump-related legal problems.
Trump said during the 2016 campaign that he could shoot someone in the middle of Manhattan and still have the backing of his supporters.
“I wouldn’t lose any voters if I were to shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue,” he declared.
Despite Trump’s conviction in the hush money trial, voters seem to have slightly shifted in favor of Biden.
