President Donald Trump delivered a powerhouse address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night, speaking for nearly two hours and sending conservatives into a frenzy of patriotic enthusiasm. His speech, clocking in at 1 hour and 39 minutes, was met with roaring applause from Republicans, while Democrats sat in silent protest—or walked out in dramatic fashion.
Conservatives wasted no time taking to social media to celebrate Trump’s vision for America and mock the left’s refusal to stand for even the most uncontroversial moments, including a tribute to a young cancer survivor.
“Peak Trump,” former senior Trump adviser Tim Murtaugh posted on X. “That’s what that was.”
Peak Trump. That’s what that was.

Trump ally Kari Lake summed up the energy of the night: “Who else feels like they could run through a wall for America after that?” Meanwhile, former Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins declared it a “victory lap” for the president, celebrating his first month back in office as more consequential than most presidents’ entire terms.

The President took a victory lap tonight — and he deserves to. He’s completely right that the first month of his Presidency was more consequential than most four-year Presidencies.
But don’t miss the important thing: this wasn’t a look back. It was a look forward. What the…

But it wasn’t just the speech itself that had conservatives cheering—it was the stunning contrast between Trump’s strong leadership and the bitter, sulking Democrats. GOP Rep. Nancy Mace noted the speech racked up at least “90 standing ovations,” while Sen. Bernie Moreno slammed Democrats for refusing to applaud a young boy battling cancer. “Truly sick people,” posted the conservative influencer account LibsofTikTok.
Lost count around 90 standing ovations tonight.
The best President in American history.

An inspiring, emotional address from @realDonaldTrump!! But crazed partisan Dems refused to applaud even a brave young man like DJ. Appalling! https://t.co/EKBkmTtweW

This is a fabulous speech!

National Review’s Rich Lowry pointed out that Trump’s speech was so unifying that even neutral viewers would be confused by the left’s miserable demeanor. “Most people watching that speech will be at a loss of what they were supposed to disagree with,” he wrote.
Yet Democrats did their best to steal the spotlight with their usual theatrics. Rep. Al Green was forcibly removed from the chamber after interrupting Trump’s speech, and several others dramatically walked out before it was over. Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver dismissed the speech as “ignorant” and claimed she had heard enough within 30 minutes.
For the millions watching at home, the message was clear: strength is back in the White House, and Trump’s America First agenda is already delivering.
