Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House’s press secretary, said that the Russians could be using internet botfarms to disseminate harmful discussion videos and support the campaign of former President Donald Trump.
Jean-Pierre fueled the rumors after receiving a query from a reporter during a media conference on Tuesday.
That’s a really excellent question, then.
“Are you now concerned that this is the beginning of a Russian attempt to sway the election results?” Has the president received an update on this? The reporter inquired. Have you seen any proof that the Russians or other foreign powers attempted to replicate any of the president’s most humiliating moments during the debate performance?
She says, “Well, that’s a really good question.”
“There were several questions in your statement, so I would have to discuss those specifically with our staff. I would let the Department of Justice make any announcements. That’s obviously something they should talk to,” Jean-Pierre continued.
She said, “AI has always been a problem, which is why the president recently announced executive action on how we can deal with AI.” “We urge Congress to take more decisive legislative action.”
Using its bot farm, Russia planned to spread false information about foreign countries created by AI.
Additionally, on Tuesday, the Department of Justice declared that it had taken down a Russian government-sponsored online bot farm that was distributing false material on X, the social media site that was once known as Twitter.
FBI Director Christopher Wray stated, “Today’s actions reflect a first in disabling a Russian-sponsored, generative AI-enhanced social media bot farm.”
According to the allegation, Russian intelligence possessed over 1,000 accounts on a “social media bot farm” that impersonated people from the United States.
Wray continued, “Russia planned to use this bot farm to disseminate AI-created foreign misinformation, expanding their efforts to weaken our allies in Ukraine and sway geopolitical narratives that are in the Russian government’s favor.”
“They will hold Russia accountable for Biden’s debating performance.”
The White House’s detractors attacked the attempt to link damaging debate tapes to a Russian misinformation operation.
“Although this question seems absurd right now, it will be nothing compared to the mainstream media’s inevitable effort to hold Putin accountable for Biden’s quick cognitive deterioration,” one comment said.
“They’re going to hold Russia responsible for Biden’s debate performance. This is not something you can make up,” another response said.
“So, some of the discussion will be considered Russian propaganda?” A different user expressed this opinion.
