This week, 300 American citizens who were stranded in Israel will be flown back to Florida as part of an airlift operation that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis launched.
The Republican presidential contender, according to The Messenger, will greet people returning home on the aircraft at Tampa International Airport alongside Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis.
Last weekend, Hamas carried out deadly terror attacks in Israel that killed more than twenty Americans. This week, DeSantis signed an executive order that gave the state permission to help with rescue and evacuation operations in Israel.
The executive order was a jab at President Biden for yet another weak reaction to a foreign policy disaster that happened while he was in office.
DeSantis said, “The Biden administration has failed to do any kind of rescuing or evacuating operations for Americans, which includes Floridians, who are stuck in the area and has failed to give the State of Florida information it asked regarding any plans to conduct these operations.”
People were made to sign waivers agreeing to pay back the United States government for the flights, according to DeSantis. Biden did nothing more than put people on flights and then dump them in Europe.
When the Biden administration didn’t do enough, the Florida Division of Emergency Management said on X this week that it would do its part to make up for it.
It said, “If you are stuck in Athens and desperately need a secure means of getting back to the United States, we might be able to help you. Please fill out our form at http://FloridaDisaster.org/Israel and give it to anyone who might need help.”
