Joe Biden’s Campaign Strangely Hurt By Hollywood Strike–WHY?

Joe Biden’s Campaign Strangely Hurt By Hollywood Strike–WHY?

It is said that the two Hollywood writers and actors strikes have hurt the Democrats’ ability to raise money, including for President Biden’s re-election campaign in 2024.

A Politico story says that some local campaigns say the industry is to blame for them not meeting their goals by as much as 25%. Biden’s campaign co-chair, Jeffrey Katzenberg, has not been to any Los Angeles fundraisers because he wants to show respect for the workers who are on strike.

The publication was informed by Chris Korge, the finance chair for Joe Biden’s campaign, that “he was ready, honestly, to refrain from going there for as much time as it took. There was no giving in on that.”

He said that the team is still waiting for Biden’s OK to bring him to Southern California.

The Writers Guild of America and the big studios and streamers recently came to a tentative deal. This means that the writer’s strike is likely to end soon, maybe even as soon as October. But actors are still on strike, which means that there won’t be any star fundraisers or they won’t be known about.

A lot of famous people backed the Biden-Harris ticket in 2020, and they gave both candidates millions of dollars.

But Biden’s popularity is at an all-time low, and Americans are dealing with out-of-control inflation as well as an illegal immigration crisis that is taking over the country. It’s unclear whether Hollywood stars will be ready to publicly back such a bad candidate.

In the meantime, the strikes are still having an effect on Democrats.

“For anyone who usually gets their money from Hollywood, it was a huge earthquake with aftershocks that will last for months,” a Democratic adviser from Southern California who asked to remain anonymous told Politico.
