After openly criticizing President Biden’s open borders strategy earlier in the month, Democrat Party presidential contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr. alleges he was refused Secret Service protection from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Kennedy has long criticized the DHS under the Biden administration for facilitating illegal immigration directly into American neighborhoods through a vast network of catch-and-release operations that start with migrants being only briefly taken into custody at the border with Mexico and end with them being transported by bus or airplane into the country’s interior.
In an interview with Jimmy Dore, Kennedy stated: “They are landing in New York in addition to Minneapolis and they’re generating big burdens upon the social service systems within those cities.”
“The Border Patrol has lost all motivation. The Border Patrol met with us. ‘You are aware, we’re not guarding the border any longer, we’re simply processing individuals who are strolling through and coming in,’” they said.
“The cartels are currently in charge of all operations at the border. You give the cartels either $10,000 or even $15,000. They take off from all over the world. There are individuals from all around, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, China, Nepal, Tibet, and several West African nations.”
Kennedy has disclosed that Mayorkas turned down his request for security from the Secret Service. In a letter, the DHS Chief stated that this level of security “isn’t required at this time.”
“Since my father’s murder in 1968, presidential candidates have received the Secret Service’s protection.” Kennedy stated on Twitter, “but not me. The Biden administration has turned down our request following 88 days of not receiving a reply and several follow-ups from our campaign.”
Kennedy claimed that Mayorkas may have declined to provide him with Secret Service security because of the way he questioned the DHS director’s policies, which have been developed and carried out, during his interview with Dore.
Kennedy remarked, “It might clarify why Mayorkas refuses to give me Secret Service, because I was extremely critical,” after stating in the interview he had specifically condemned the Biden administration’s determination on removing supplies for building the border wall which the Trump administration had previously supplied to DHS.
“It’s petty politics. That people in positions of authority are engaging in such despicable behavior is upsetting. I don’t know if Mr. Mayorkas’ decision to refrain from supplying me with Secret Service security was influenced by the fact that I was extremely vocal in my criticism of him for that choice,” Kennedy asserted. “I have no idea, but it just occurred to me.”
Kennedy declared that one of his first goals as president was going to be to drastically reduce illegal immigration along the border because “no nation is going to survive unless it secures its borders.”
